Requirements The principle responsibilities of Resident Medical Officer are the pre & post operative care of patients who have undergone elective surgery. It is essential that candidates: • Have at least 2 years hospital experience. Six months of the adult surgical care must be within the last two years. Desirable to also have paediatric experience within the last 2 years • Are proficient in cannulation, venapuncture, catheterisation, blood taking, pharmaceutical knowledge and the reading of ECG’s. • Being confident speaking, reading and writing in English, including medical English. Our client hospitals will expect a good standard of English from their doctors. It is therefore in your best interests to ensure that you have an appropriate level of English skills to make your time in the UK at successful as possible. You may wish to confirm this by sitting the English Screening test online. We will be able to assist you with this arrangement Documents and registrations For doctors wishing to work as an RMO in the United Kingdom, the following documents are a mandatory part of the recruitment process: • Full CV. The more detail that can be provided on this the easier it is for us to provide you with a suitable work placement. • Two clinical references. These should be recent (6 months)and verifiable references, ideally from consultant level colleagues. • Graduation Certificate. • Evidence of immunity to Hepatitis B • Rubella, Varicella, Measles and Mumps. • HIV report, Hep C report, • Hep B Antigen report • Proof of BCG • Chest X-Ray report • A Police Clearance report from your country of origin • A copy of your right to work in the UK (if you do not have an EU passport or VISA we will obtain & pay for a work permit for you) • Completed Health Questionnaire and Personal Information • 4 Passport photos Positions are currently available for the following rotations: 1:1/2:2 (One week on, one week off/ Two weeks on, two weeks off) RMOs work one full week of 168 hours, with changeovers scheduled for Monday 1200 hours. The pay for this rotation is £1,903 per week (£49,478 per annum including Holiday Pay, paid monthly) ABCD (Week of days, Week off, Week of nights, Week off) RMOs work a week of 84 hours, with changeovers scheduled for 08:00 hours for start of day and 20:00 hours for start of night shift. This is working alongside one of your colleagues. The pay for this rotation is £1,397 per week, (£36,320 per annum including Holiday Pay, paid monthly) We also offer alternative rotations including 1:1 rotations for doctors with ICU and/or Anaesthetic experience (Intensivist RMO).
